Danny Joe Herrin, 50, of Hartburg, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at his residence.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Officiating will be Reverend James Sellers, pastor of the Oak Grove Tabernacle in Hartburg.  Interment will follow services in the King Cemetery in Hartburg.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born on August 24, 1957 in Kirbyville, Texas to Earl Anderson and Velma M. (Bennight) Herrin, he was a longtime resident of the Deweyville and Hartburg area, worked as a carpenter in the construction industry and had been attending services at the Oak Grove Tabernacle in Hartburg.  Mr. Herrin was a very simple man who enjoyed working to support his family, who was the most important priority to him.  He and his late wife Judy also enjoyed spending time with their children and especially their grandchildren.
Mr. Herrin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy Naquin Herrin, his brothers, George and Alton Herrin and his sister, Kathy Oliver.  Those who will most cherish his memory are his daughters, Melissa Wesolowski and husband Steven of Mauriceville, Kimberly Estillette and husband Jeremie of Orange and Crystal Smith and husband Preston of Deweyville; mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Naquin of Orange; sisters, Velmarie Sandoval and husband Jesse of Port Arthur, Almarie Johnson of Kirbyville, Sharon Inman and husband Gene of Kirbyville and Debbie Inman and husband Calvin of Mount Belvieu, Texas; brothers, Earl Herrin and wife Billie of Call, Texas, Ray Herrin of Call, John Herrin and wife Kathy of Call and James Herrin of Kirbyville; Grandchildren, Kelsie Wesolowski, Brandon Wesolowski and Ryan Wesolowski all of Mauriceville, Parker Smith and Brooklyn Smith both of Deweyville and J.T. Estillette of Orange; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  Pallbearers will be David Johnson, Earl Herrin, John Herrin, James Herrin, Ray Herrin and Wayne Herrin.  Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Singleton and Brian Herrin.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dormanfuneralhome.com.
