West Orange – Stark High School Career Center precision machining student Blake Thibodeaux, a Bridge City High School student attending the WO-S Career Center, won second place in the 2007-2008 SkillsUSA State Contest held in Corpus Christi April 3-4.

            Thibodeaux earned the right to compete at state by placing first at the District Speed Skills Contest held earlier this year.

Additionally, all of the WO-S High School precision machining, building trades, and auto collision students who advanced to State also earned blue first place ribbons on their projects or job exhibits.

Blue ribbon precision machining project students are Jared Block, Justin Broussard, D’Juantis Cotton, James Crabtree, Clarence Crockett, Ivan Davila, James Howington, Ronnie Newman, Joseph Thomas, Tremond Warnell, and Chris Woodall.

WO-S Career Center Blue ribbon machinists who attend Bridge City High School are Blake Thibodeaux, Blake Neeb, Tristan Beam, Andrew Rodgers, James Johnson, Brad Betar, and Gus Garza.

Betar won Best-of-Show with his Precision Machining project.

Earning blue ribbons on Building Trades Projects are Andrew Parmer and Matthew Westbrook.

Also earning blue ribbons on all projects are Auto Collision Repair students. They are Estefano Cardenas and Leon Mendizabal.
