Mary Nan Davis Honeycutt., 81, of Orange died peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Honeycutt was born on Sept. 18, 1926 in Nederland to Arthur J. and Therese Meadows Davis. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse for Concepts of Care and Orange Memorial Hospital. Honeycutt was also a member of the Orange Christian Women’s Association, on the Board of Orange Christian Services, a member of Faith United Methodist Church and active in the VFW.


Honeycutt was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford V. Honeycutt and son, Gordon D. Honeycutt.

She is survived by her daughter, Terrye Honeycutt Gifford and husband Dan of Orange; grandchildren, Brooke Grissom and husband Michael of Tomball, Michelle Honeycutt of Lafayette, La., Patricia Honeycutt, Ashley Honeycutt of Atlanta, Ga., Wesley Gifford, and Spencer Gifford both of Orange and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving Honeycutt are brothers and sisters, Rose Arthur Knighten of Beaumont, Averill J. Davis and Wife Margo of Kirbyville, Walter F. Davis and wife Margaret of Lufkin, many friends and family who will miss her deeply.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
