Delores Ann Norment, 63, of Mauriceville, formerly of the Port Arthur/Groves area, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 in a Beaumont hospital.  Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Officiating will be Reverend J. B. Prouse, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange.  Interment will follow services in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis community of Orange.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born on December 2, 1944 in Dallas , Texas , she was the eldest of her three siblings, resided in the Groves / Port Arthur area since the age of seven, worked for and retired as a branch manager for Coastal Bank in Port Arthur and she resided for the last ten years in Mauriceville. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the lake, traveling and attending and participating in activities with her grandchildren.
Delores is preceded in death by her mother, Billie Jo (Bates) Evans.  Those who will most cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jim Norment of Mauriceville; daughter, Jodi Vela and husband Carlos of Mauriceville; son Trey Norment and his girlfriend Grace Harmon of Austin; mother-in-law, Katie Norment of Mauriceville; two sisters, Sheila Galvan and husband Ismael of Nederland and Mary McMillan of LaPorte; three grandchildren, Carli Vela, Keely Vela and Matthew Norment.  Pallbearers will be Carlos Vela, Keith Cloessner, Steven Crim, Steve Fisher, John Gardemal Troy Johnston and Tommy Martin.  For those desiring memorial contributions, the family has asked for donations to be made in Delores’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 755 South 11th Street, Suite 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701  (409) 835-2138, and/or the University of Texas, M.
