The Lamar Institute of Technology currently is enrolling students for its May mini-semester, and Summer I, II and II semesters.

“It isn’t too late to enroll for the mini-semester or any of the summer sessions,” said Chris Castillo, LIT spokesman. “This is a great opportunity for students to move up their graduation date and lighten their load in the fall.”

General education courses as well as specialized courses within each department at LIT are offered.

The Institute is taking the lead in the region to help residents learn the skills that are needed for the upcoming job boom.

“LIT offers training that is in demand,” Castillo said. “We have both credit and non- credit courses and courses that allow certification in skills like aerial lift and fork lift training. If you want a job that offers better pay, LIT is the place to begin.”

The May mini-semester runs from May 8-29. Summer I is from May 30 through July 3, and Summer II, July 11 through Aug. 14. The Summer III session is from May 30 through Aug. 14.

LIT also is continuing to register and enroll students for the fall semester.

“This is the best time to sign up for fall classes. By registering now, you can make sure you get the classes you need at the time and day you need them,” said Castillo. “Don’t put it off. If you plan ahead, you can beat the fall enrollment rush.”

The fall semester begins Aug. 25.
