Rena Mae Lobb
Rena Mae Lobb, 85, of Bridge City, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 in her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Rev. Gaye Stafford with the Hartburg Tabernacle. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born on July 19, 1922 in Laneville, Texas, she was the daughter of Gains T. and Lillian Johnson. She moved to Orange in 1943 when she married Jesse L. (Jake) Lobb. She was a member of the Grand Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Orange for many years serving as president and past president of the Ladies Order. She spent many hours preparing food for fundraisers for those in need. Her talents for cooking will always be remembered by family and friends. For many years, she would travel back and forth from East Texas bringing fresh vegetables and watermelons to Orange for all to enjoy. She was happiest when she sat on the bank of a pond in East Texas with her grandchildren catching fish. Mama Lobb was a loving mother and grandmother.
Lobb was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jesse (Jake) Lobb and her grandson, Troy Robinson.
Those left who will always cherish her memory are her sons, Larry and Jeannie Lobb of Orange and Tommy and Glee Lobb of Bridge City; daughters, Judy and Mike Gunn of Orange and Shirley Doiron and Bobby Redd of Mauriceville. Six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
