Fans Encouraged to Vote for Football Heroes at

The Built Ford Tough High School Football Player of the Week program kicks off Monday, September 1, with a call for nominations. Ford invites fans to vote for favorite players each week of high school football season at

Nominations must be submitted by Tuesday at noon central time following each weekend game.

For the third consecutive year, Ford Motor Company will recognize six outstanding student-athletes each week with the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Player of the Week Award. Additionally this Fall, television crews will travel to communities across the state to shine the spotlight on selected Players of the Week. The half-hour Built Ford Tough Player of the Week program presented by the Dallas Cowboys will air three times each week throughout the 2008 high school football season and include coverage of the Player of the Year banquet held at Texas stadium on FOX Sports Southwest. Ford will also launch, giving fans the chance to register online, read about the Players of the Week and view video clips of the players in action.

Additionally, a television series highlighting each week’s winners will begin airing on Fox Sports Southwest on Sunday, August 31 at 11:00 p.m. The first episode of the series will highlight players from the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game played July 29 in San Antonio.

New programs will air each Sunday, repeating throughout the week.
