Elbert Lee Daniels Jr., 75, of Mauriceville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, in Beaumont. Funeral services were Nov. 29 in the chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Interment was in Wilkinson Cemetery in Little Cypress. Officiating was the Rev. Bobby Granger, pastor of the West Orange Christian Church in West Orange.
Born Oct. 17, 1933, in DeQuincy, La., to Elbert Lee Sr. and Retha Eura Wornell, he was a lifelong resident of the Orange area, and a member of the first graduating class of Little Cypress High School in 1953. He worked for and retired from the Pipefitters Local 195 in Port Arthur in the construction industry, was a member of the West Orange Christian Church and enjoyed playing the guitar and hunting. Mr. Daniels also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents; and Elsie Faye (Chandler) Daniels, his wife of 41 years who passed away in 1995.
Those who will most cherish his memory are his children, daughters Tina Cassidy of Buna, Tonia Langlow of Mauriceville, TariAnne Noe of Mauriceville and Trisha Johnson and her husband Brian of Cornelius, N.C.; sons Keith Daniels and wife Lori of Mauriceville; and Kirby Daniels of Mauriceville; sister, Bobbie Jean Burrell of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Elmer Clyde Daniels and wife Marylyn of Atlanta, Ga.; Jerry Glenn Daniels of Butte, Mont. and James Ray Jones of DeRidder, La. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bethany Riley, Joel Cassidy, Kevin Menard Jr., Andrew Noe, Laura Collins, Jeremy Daniels, Nadine Noe, Brittany Noe and Riley Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Raymond Rainwater, Kevin Menard, Jr., Joel Cassidy, Jeremy Daniels, Robert Daniels and Andrew Noe. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Cody Savant and Billy Collins.
