Christmas Spirit triumphs over Ike

Last updated 12/6/2008 at Noon

The Christmas Spirit is starting to spread despite the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Ike in September.

Amid piles of rubble, children lined the streets to catch candy and watch the parade Saturday morning in downtown Bridge City.

Orange Jaycees held their parade of lights Friday evening along Green Avenue.

People took time off from their clean-up efforts to share a little taste of the Christmas Spirit.

Ike will not be the Grinch who stole Christmas this year.
