New Year’s worship service

Covered dish dinner

A community-wide fellowship and covered dish dinner for persons age 50 and over will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 13 in the gym at North Orange Baptist Church, 4775 N. 16th St. Guests should bring a dish for the meal and an inspirational program, sponsored by the North Orange Baptist Senior Adults. Discount food packages

Trinity Lutheran Church will take orders for the Angel Food Ministry from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at 1819 N. 16th St. The January menu features of a regular box of food for $30. The box contains one and a half pounds of ribeye steaks; four pounds of leg quarters; one and a half pounds of beef patties; 18 ounces of cheese filled manicotti; two pounds of pork rib strips; one pound of chicken breast fajita strips; one pound of ground turkey, one pound of broccoli, one pound of peas; six count oatmeal variety box; 32 ounces of shelf stable milk, eight ounces of blueberry muffin mix; 12 count white corn tortillas, one pound of pinto beans, seven ounces of chicken flavored rice and vermicelli, a dozen eggs and a dessert item. Senior boxes are available for $28 and include 10 nutritionally-balanced, fully-cooked meals.
 With the purchase of a regular box or senior box, various specials can be bought. Special No. 1 is a six-pound assorted combo box for $22, No. 2 is a four-and-a-half-pound bacon-wrapped meat combo for $21, No. 3, a three-and-a-quarter T-bone special for $21; No. 4, a chicken combo box for $20; and No. 5, a fresh fruit and veggie box for $21. A detailed listing of choices can be found in the menu box on the southeast corner of the church.
Payment should be by the Lone Star Food Voucher Program or money order made payable to Trinity Lutheran. Orders will be distributed on from 8 to 9 a.m. Jan. 24.
