In these hard economic times, who wouldn’t want the chance to turn a $100 investment into $10,000 in gold in just one evening? The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is giving Southeast Texans that opportunity at the 14th annual Go for the Gold Party and Reverse Drawing beginning at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5. This event gives three lucky ticket-holders a chance to win prizes in gold.
A $100 ticket entitles participants to receive admission, dinner and cocktails for two along with one entry into the Go for the Gold reverse drawing. That means the last three ticket stubs drawn from the hopper are the winners of:

Third Place     $1,000 in Gold
Second Place  $1,500 in Gold
First Place     $10,000 in Gold

“Go for the Gold is always an exciting event, but this year we are anticipating a heightened enthusiasm because gold is looking much better to many people,” said AMSET Executive Director Lynn Castle. “But most importantly, this event raises funds to benefit our educational programs and exhibitions.”

Go for the Gold 2009 is chaired by J. Mitchell Smith, and emcees for the evening will be the “Gold Digger Sisters” Heather Petkovsek and Kathy Fisher. Dinner will be provided by Two Magnolias. Only 500 tickets will be sold for the event; advance purchase is recommended.
