KC Lenten dinners at St. Francis Knights of Columbus Council 13825 will sell fried catfish dinners March 27 and April 3 from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m.

during Lent in the San Damiano Center of St. Francis Catholic Church, 4300 Meeks Drive.

Plates are $7 and include two pieces of fish, fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and cake, available for dine-in or carry-out.

Proceeds will go to programs supported by the council.

Lenten meditations, lunch First Presbyterian Church of Orange, 902 Green Ave., offers Lenten meditations to the community and church members on four consecutive Wednesdays at noon through April 8 Sack lunches will be available in the Gillespie Building.

Participants are welcome to dine in or dine out.

The Fellowship Hall of the Lutcher Building will be open for silent prayer and meditation.

Printed devotionals will be available.

Music director Darren Hoyland will play the 50-year-old Casavant French-style pipe organ located in the sanctuary.

  Food pantry may re-open in May The Bridge City Orangefield Ministerial Alliance’s food pantry hopes to re-open in May. The food program had extensive loss due to Hurricane Ike.

The Ministerial Alliance was awarded renovation funds from South East Texas Emergency Relief Fund, Texas Disaster Relief Fund and Entergy Hurricane Relief Fund.

Renovations are being completed by Real Life Ministeries of Louisana.

Bridge City KC Lenten dinners The Knights of Columbus in Bridge City will offer fried catfish dinners for the Lenten season, from 10:30 a.m.

to 1 p.m.

Fridays through April 3 at the KC hall at 770 Ave. A next to St. Henry Catholic Church on Roundbunch Road.

Dinners include fried catfish, fries, coleslaw and hush puppies for $7, with delivery of 10 or more.

Call in orders Thursday evening or early Friday by 9 a.m.

Lenten dinners at St. Therese Fish dinners will be available 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m.

Fridays during Lent at St. Therese Catholic Church, 1409 N. Sixth St. For $7, meals include fried fish, green beans, potato salad, bread and cake; with carry-out or delivery of five or more.

FWC clothing giveaway The Trading Post Ministry of Family Worship Center, 2300 41st St. (across from the Brown Center), has free clothing – infant to plus sizes and free shoes for men, women and children.

Donations will be distributed from the rear of the building on Tuesdays and Thursdays – 10 a.m.

to 3 p.m.

Catholic Daughters offer scholarships Court Saint Cecilia of the Catholic Daughters will award three $500 scholarships this year to graduating seniors.

Applications may be obtained by calling Jeanette Boehme, regent, at 883-4021 or Marion Robichaux, education chairman, at 886-1963.

Deadline for applying is May 1.

First United Methodist “Manly” Program All Orange County United Methodist Men are invited to attend the UMM “Manly” Program on Monday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m.

in the Praise Center at FUMC. Catfish will be freshly prepared by FUMC’s Sr.

Pastor Tom Stephenson who will also be the guest presenter for the evening program.

Come eat, come fellowship and come enjoy an evening of togetherness.

Holy Week Services at FUMC Celebrate the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ during holy week services offered by First United Methodist Church of Orange.

Maundy Thursday Communion Service will take place April 9 at 6:00 p.m.

On April 10, Good Friday Tenebrae Service begins at 6:00 p.m.

The Chancel Choir will present the Weeping Tree which is a collection of beautiful music about the cross, most fitting for Good Friday.

Easter Services on April 12 include a 6:30 a.m.

Sunrise Service at Shangri La at the Pond of the Blue Moon, an 8:55 a.m.

service in Praise Center, and an 11:00 a.m.

service in Praise Center.

Production set to educate, entertain Tthe next First United Methodist Church of Orange Family Production is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m.

in the Praise Center.

Only one Sunday Service will be held that week.

FUMC Family Productions are entertaining and educational and provide a great avenue for friends and family to come to FUMC, learn about the church and Jesus Christ.

St. Mark issues an open invitation St. Mark Lutheran Church is issuing an open invitation to our community to begin a new journey with us.

Beginning March 26, we will meet at the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce office at 150 W. Roundbunch at 10 a.m.

for a prayer meeting.

At 10:30 a.m.

there will be light refreshments and starting at 11 a.m.

and lasting until 12 p.m.

At this time there will be a new Bible Study beginning with the Book of Job.

All are invited to enjoy this lively discussion of the Bible.

Hear “Naomi” at Conference Guest speaker Virginia Haynes will portray “Naomi” at the First Baptist Church Orangefield’s Annual Women’s Conference.

This year’s theme is “Women for All Seasons” and will be held Saturday, April 4 from 8:30 a.m.

until 2 p.m.

There is no charge for the conference and meals will be provided.

At this meeting, a love offering will be gathered to further the ministry located at 9877 FM 105 in Orangefield.
