Irving Paul Broussard
Irving Paul Broussard, 82, of West Orange, died Friday, April 10, 2009. Funeral services were Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with the Rev. Joseph P. Daleo, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange. A rosary was recited Sunday at the funeral home.
Broussard was born in Jeanerette, La. on Nov. 8, 1926. He was the son of James and Octavia (Hebert) Broussard. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of World War II and a life member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 2775. Broussard was a boilermaker and retired as a shipping and receiving supervisor from American Bridge in Orange with 30 years of perfect attendance. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister for 20 years. Broussard was a loving husband and father and enjoyed the times spent with his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and his six brothers and sisters, Mr. Broussard is survived by his wife, Gertrude Broussard; sons, Owen McPayne of Vidor, Wendell Broussard, Mark Broussard, Norman Broussard and his wife, Lori; daughters, Ellen Fleming and husband, Pete, Susan Moody and husband, Aaron, Marian Trammel and husband, Douglas. Also surviving are Mr. Broussard’s 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Aaron Moody II, Abram Moody, Matthew McPayne, Jason Broussard, Daniel Trammel and Paul Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Broussard and Andrew Broussard.
