WO-S students complete Nurse Assistant Requirements
Twelve West Orange – Stark High School Health Occupation students have completed the clinical rotations and curriculum required to meet Nursing Assistant standards.
The students were awarded their Nursing Assistant Pins in a special ceremony held at the West Orange – Stark High School Library Lecture Room last week.
Earning their Nursing Assistant pins were: Brittini Ballinger, Kwanza Colbert, Constance Forward, Christie Gaskill, Quanetria Green, Leah Hudson, Darnetta Irvine, Kayla Richard, Shuntreal Roberts, Michel’le Simpson, Kayla Smith, and Georqual Tolliver.
WO-S High School alumni/ Certified Nursing Assistant Almetria Platt was the guest speaker at the event.
Dixie Fears, R.N., Lamar State College – Orange Liaison/ Clinical Supervisor of the Dual Enrollment course provided remarks and prepared the Nursing Pins for award. Selected family members and/or school staff pinned the Nursing Assistants.
West Orange – Stark High School Health Science Technology Instructor Terrie Salter, R.N., said, “These students are fortunate to be in High School and at the same time able to take a class that will allow them to make a living. It shows that they can accomplish great things.”
