Twenty-one vie for Morrison’s job
Orangefield ISD released today that so far, 21 applicants have submitted resumes in hopes to fill the Athletic Director’s position. Coach Blake Morrison submitted his resignation on May 28.
Philip Welch, superintendent of the school district said applications are presently being reviewed and references contacted. Interviews are scheduled to be conducted the week of June 15. A recommendation will be made at the June 22 school board meeting.

Greg Bass, offensive coach at Marlin; Troy Bolton, offensive coach at Little Cypress-Mauriceville; Gary Brewton, assistant coach at Spring ISD; Carl Broussard, defensive coach at Port Neches-Groves; Paul Colton, athletic director at High Island; Thomas Dracos, offensive coach at Mexia; Dwayne DuBois, offensive coach at Vidor; James Duprie, head coach at Nixon-Smiley; Danny Faust, offensive coach at West wood High School; Ryan George, defensive coach at Hutto; Brian Huckabay, 08-09 assistant principal at Hull Daisetta and athletic director at Paul Pewitt; Michael Long, athletic director at Kelly; Brandon Morgan, offensive coach at Burkeville; Wayne McKeller, assistant coach at memorial; Bob McLeroy, athletic consultant at Bryan; Caleb Peveto from Dallas; Jeff Peveto, assistant coach at West Brook; Jim Phillips, athletic director at Greenville; Josh Rankin, defensive coach at Haltom; Curtis Viola, defensive coach at Memorial; and Michael Waldie, defensive coach at Mount Pleasant.
