What a day for the air condition to take a nap. Thank God for a neighbor that knows just what to do. He was here right away. One good thing I didn’t have to prepare lunch.

I already had my recipes picked out thanks to Jimmie Hanson. He told me not long ago about his grandmother making him ice cream and freezing it in the ice trays of the refrigerator.

I remember doing that about 50 years ago. I guess they still have ice trays and probably have ice boxes that use frozen ice blocks.

I guess you think that I am dating my self. Well my mother use to tell me all this.

Easy homemade ice cream by B.L. Watton

• 3 egg yolks
• 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand® milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup chopped fruit (your choice)
• 1 pint whipped cream
• 2 cups fresh or unsweetened frozen fruit
• 1 cup mashed or pureed fruit of the same fruit as above.

Blend eggs, Eagle Brand®, vanilla and chopped fruit. Fold in whipped cream. Alternate this with pureed fruit in 9×5 inch loaf pan lined with foil. Swirl with spatula and freeze, covered for six hours.

Scoop out or slice.
