OJH cheerleaders bring home awards
The 2009 Orangefield Junior High cheer squad and mascot just returned from Texas A&M Cheer Camp. This year they walked away with nine superior ribbons which included five blue and four gold. They also won a first place trophy for their home dance routine, a second place trophy and ribbon for camp champs. Each night they were also awarded a spirit stick.
The squad was invited to perform Jan. 1, 2010 in the Capital One Bowl pre-game performance at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Fla., including the team mascot Ashley Lunsford.
Six girls competed for All-American with four of the six being selected. They include eighth graders Caylin Choate and Aaliyah Johnson, seventh graders Geri Jackson and Madison Ousley.
Lunsford was also awarded All-American for her performance.
This years sponsors are Stephanie Edgerly and Karen Anthony. Both would like to thank Diana Suire for all her hard work in getting the girls ready for camp. They look forward to a fun and exciting year.
