Mrs. Frazier’s Jam Tart
Fresh from the Farmers Market
With all the jams available, there are plenty to choose from for making Mrs. Frazier’s Jam Tart.
All you need is a package of two refrigerated pie crusts and a jar of jam.
Unroll one of the crusts onto a cookie sheet and spread with a thick layer of jam to about an inch from the edge. Moisten the edge with water. Unroll the remaining crust and place on top. Seal the edge with a fork to keep the jam from leaking out. Cut slits all over the top with a knife. Sprinkle with sugar or cinnamon-sugar.
Bake at 425 degrees for 17 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Brush top with butter. For an extra special look, before adding the top crust use a tiny cookie cutter to cut designs in the crust.
To make a smaller tart, use just one crust, spread jam on half, and fold the other half over.
