Jimmie A. George
Jimmie A. George, 90, of Vidor died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
A native of Preston, Okla., he has lived in Vidor since 1975 and was a retired self-employed welder. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda LaValle; sister, Marie Hopkins; and granddaughter, Lydia Clement.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Faye George of Vidor; son, Jack George of Eunice, La.; daughters, Sylvia Snowden of Jasper, Patsy Clement of Woodville, and Joy Miller of Roanoke, La.; thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
