PH police make warrant arrests
Following traffic stops on Dec. 13 and 16, Pinehurst police arrested Jonathon Lee McElroy, 24, of two outstanding warrants by the Orange Municipal Court and Justice of the Peace Precinct 3; and Sherry Lynn Lynch, 23, on an outstanding warrant issued by Justice of the Peace Joe Parkhurst. Officer Leonard Roff handled both cases, according to police Chief Fred Hanauer.
Following a Dec. 14 complaint taken by Roff in reference to debit/credit card abuse, a female juvenile confessed and a second suspect is sought for questioning.
The offense is punishable by up to two years in a state jail and a $10,000 fine.
Police are also investigating a burglary of a vehicle. According to Hanauer, on Dec. 10 Officer Mike Dempsey responded to a complainant on Pelican Street who reported that unknown person(s) entered his car and removed a handgun, digital camera and Garmin GPS. The property is valued at approximately $1,000.
