Mrs. Ella Mae Bryant, 88, of Lumberton, formerly of West Orange, passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at Village Creek Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m. at Dorman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was a native of Roswell, N. M.; born on April 28, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Watkins. She had lived in the West Orange area since 1960 and the last three years in Lumberton. One of her favorite things to do was to play Bingo and she loved to do crafts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert Carl Bryant; daughters, Betty Pietrowicz, Linda Pullen; son, Charles Bryant; brother, Joe Watkins Jr.; and grandson, Jason Pietrowicz.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip A. Watkins and wife, Loretta of Lumberton, James Bryant and his wife, Barbara of Staunton, Va.; daughter, Joyce Barney of Staunton, Va; brother, Gerald Watkins and his wife, Linda of Orange; granddaughter, Mindy Vandevender and husband, Bubba of Nederland; as well as 12 other grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Servicing as pallbearers are Bubba Vandevender, Michael Watkins, Jeff Watkins, Blake Vandevender, Balen Vandevender and Tony Pietrowicz.
