John Davis Peet Sr., 66, of Orange, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 in Beaumont. Services to remember his life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in the Bland Cemetery in Orange.  

Born on Dec. 30, 1943 in Orange, to parents, Oscar James Peet Sr. and Willie Mae (Bland) Peet, he was a lifelong resident of Orange. He worked as a machinist, a pipefitter and a commercial fisherman.  John was a member of the International Association of Machinist and the Pipefitters Local #195.  John enjoyed history, hunting, fishing and camping, but above all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  

John is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Oleta Jane Peet Simmons.  

Those who will cherish his memory most are his children, his sons, James Peet and wife, Robin of Vidor, Lance Peet and wife, Cindy of Rosenberg, Jeff Peet of Orange, Manny Peet and wife, Michelle of Orange and John Peet of Newport News, Va.; his daughter, Brandi Peet Harris and husband, Brian of Orangefield.  John is also survived by four sisters, one brother, fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many extended family and friends.
