Lewd behavior leads to arrest
A man who caused lewd behavior complaints Feb. 9 at a restaurant on Strickland Drive initially gave a fictitious name to officers, according to Fred Hanauer, Pinehurst police chief.
He was eventually identified as David Dewayne Carey, 31, and was charged with failure to identify for a bond forfeiture warrant. Officer Brian Foley investigated.
Other recent Pinehurst investigations include a charge of criminal trespass to Eric Paul Lucher, 38, after Foley was dispatched Feb. 7 in reference to suspicious activity in the 3400 block of Redbird Street; and Feb. 8, Officer Mike Dempsey responded to the 2800 block of 35th Street in reference to a dog at large. The complainant reported his dog was attacked by another dog whose owner lives nearby. Charges are pending through the Pinehurst Municipal Court.
Hanauer also reports the following outstanding warrant arrests:
• Feb. 5: Elbert Wiley, 29, was arrested for two Capias Pro Fine warrants. Officer Leonard Roff investigated; and Earl Trahan, 25, was arrested for warrants issued by the Orange Municipal Court and Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Derry Dunn. Dempsey investigated.
• Feb. 6: Carlos Patron Scrutchins, 29, was arrested on an outstanding parole warrant. Foley investigated.
