Eating Raw with Chef Deby Huckins
Raw Food Chef, Deby Huckins will treat the Golden Triangle Body Mind Spirit Connection to a buffet of information about why adding more raw food to your families meals is so important for a healthy life. You will want to be there to sample some of the ‘goodies” she will demo.
Members gather for food and fellowship at 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Sertino’s Cafe, 5657 Eastex Fwy, Beaumont, TX 77706.

Chef organizes raw food group
It has finally happened. Golden Triangle Body Mind Spirit Connection now has a raw food focus group. The inaugural event, a raw potluck, was held at Amazing Graze Fellowship Hall in Sulphur, La.
“If you wonder how can you get “full” on raw food; well, believe me you can,” said GTBMS founder Victoria Ramirez. “In fact I discovered that I got filled-up faster and was much more satisfied on this wonderful Raw meal.”
Chef Deby Huckins presented lots of information on soaking, sprouting and had a great demo of the different types of sprouting methods. Wheat grass was juiced by another member of the group for everyone to sample.
“The zucchini hummus were yummy with the onion crackers.” The handout included some of the recipes.
The next gathering will be at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, March 20. Huckins’ team will be showing how to prepare a raw Mexican meal, also sharing the recipes.
Cost of the meal is $10. The public is invited, but there is a strict deadline to RSVP by March 15 to attend. An early head count is needed for preparation.
The fellowship hall is located at 300 W. Lincoln in Sulphur.
