Cabela’s Speckled Trout USA Tournaments will hold a two-day event in Orange during the festival. All festivities take place around the Orange riverfront boat ramp, 1000 Simmons Drive.

Late registration for the fishing tournament will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday night at the boat ramp.

Gumbo Challenge participants may set up their pop-up tents and kitchens Friday night on Destroyer Drive at the boat ramp.

Entry fee for the gumbo challenge is $75. Cooking starts at 7 a.m., Saturday. Judging will be at 2 p.m., with winners announced at 4 p.m. Competition category is combination gumbo. There is also a side competition for potato salad. For more details contact the chamber at 883-3536.

For the fishing tournament, a captains’ meeting will be held at 5:30 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday morning at the boat ramp on Simmons drive. Tournament hours each day are from 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. All anglers must be in weigh-in line by 4 p.m. at the boat ramp.

A $150 per team entry fee allows a team to compete for the chance to win cash and prizes totaling $7,500. A third person per team is allowed if that angler is under 16. It allows families to fish a well run event and spend some quality time together on the water.
