Christine Gaspard, 78, passed from her physical life here to an eternal spiritual life into God’s Kingdom at her home on May 22, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 24 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born March 25, 1931 in Ringgold, La., to Carey Routilious Corley and Liddie Frances Smith Corley. She was a lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La., until relocating to Vidor to be closer to her family. She retired from the banking field after 31 years. Christine was a devoted member of the Eastern Star Chapter 13 and was to celebrate 50 years of membership on October 25 of this year. 

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Carey and Liddie Corley; husband, Harvey Wayland Roark; and second husband, Rocky Whiteaker; and her youngest son, Nickey Darwin Roark.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Gaspard Sr., of Vidor; her son, Mickey Roark and his wife, Lisa of Vidor; stepsons, Stevie Gaspard Jr. and wife, Gaylen, Russell Gaspard and wife, April all of Nederland; sister, Verlene Henderson and her husband, Leroy of Georgetown, La.; granddaughter, Wendy Gentz and husband, Matt; grandson, Brad Roark and wife, Monica; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Josie and Nathan Roark and Natalie Gentz all of Vidor
