Cocaine found during Bridge City traffic stop

Bridge City Police Officer Frank Carpenter discovered 22 pounds of cocaine in a traffic stop in Bridge City Sunday.Carpenter stopped a 2005 Dodge Pickup in the 700 block of Texas Avenue around 8:52 a.m. for an equipment violation.

The occupants appeared nervous during the intial interview. A check on the the driver’s license indicated an outstanding warrant from the City of Orange.

Consent was given for a search of the vehicle. Carpenter located approximately 22 pounds of cocaine in a brown cardboard box in the backseat floorboard of the vehicle.

Both occupants were taken into custody without incident according to the BC Police Department.

The driver was identified as Acquille Ann Vaughn from New Orleans, La. Her passenger was Eric McMillan of Gretna, La.
