A Mauriceville woman was warned about dogs running at large after her female pit bull attacked a neighbor’s horse. She was also cited for not having a rabies vaccination certificate for the dog.

According to Sgt. Chad Hogan, Orange County deputies received the complaint Tuesday around 8:20 a.m. When they arrived at 15345 N. Texas 62, it appeared the dog had gotten loose from her pen and attacked the 2-year-old horse.

The pit bull’s owner removed the dog from the horse’s location. The horse sustained injuries to the head and face and was taken to a veterinary clinic.
