Sybil Nell Burgess, 80, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont.  Memorial services to remember her life will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 25 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Officiating will be the Rev. Kevin Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Cremation arrangements and services by Dorman Funeral Home in Orange .

Born on Oct. 16, 1929 in Center, Texas to her parents, Fritz Martin and Wilma Lona (Wagstaff) Martin, she was a long time resident of Orange. She lived in Fredericksburg for nine years. Sybil was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Sybil is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, J. L. Burgess. 
Cherishing her memory most are her daughters, Rita Heiner and husband, Kenneth of Fredericksburg, Texas and Regie Matt and husband, Micky of Beaumont; her son, Rocky Burgess and wife, Carol of Oneida, Tenn.; her sister, Johnnie Clark of Mauriceville; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
