Faith UMC hosts Kidz Adventure Camp
Kidz Adventure Camp is back again this summer with another great line-up of camp sessions for children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays, July 14, 21, and 28. Each of the three sessions is designed to encourage and inspire children through a variety of action-packed learning adventures.
‘Yummy Cafe’ on July 14 will have children traveling around the world as they cook a variety of cuisines from different countries. They’ll delight in sharing their dishes with one another during lunch. Along with stirring up great recipes, this food-themed day will also include challenging food games, cupcake decoration, and a tasty kid-friendly snack; made by the children, of course.
The ‘Wowee Gallery’ Art camp will come to life on July 21, with young artist’s creations in watercolor and acrylic paints as well as collage art from nature and recyclables. Children will also create a delightful project through flower-pounding, an interesting technique, led by guest instructor, Sandra Hoke. Renowned artists C. Delle Bates, Johnny Newman, and Mary Beth Hunt will again be featured as guest art instructors and motivators at this year’s art camp.
The final session, ‘Express Yourself’ will be chock full of exciting activities, including wood-working, interpretive dance, sign language and puppetry. Also slated for the day will be a bottle-cap project and wacky water games.
Each of the three sessions will feature upbeat Christian music, hands-on crafts, games, lunch, snacks, slushies, new friends and plenty of confidence boosters.
Kidz Adventure Camp is a great way for kids to have fun with friends, learn something new and stay cool during the summer heat. The highly popular camp is for children ages 5 through entering 5th grade, and is sponsored by Faith United Methodist Church.
This year’s camp will be held at the new church campus located at 8608 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Orange.
A registration brochure with tuition information can be downloaded at www.faithumc-orange.org, or picked up at the church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, please call 920-5068.
