The soul of Viola B. Carpenter was released from earth’s bondage on Thursday, July 01, 2010. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 3 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Officiating will be the Rev. James T. Garrett. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
Viola served the Lord for many years as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J. E. “Mac” Carpenter; her daughter, Frances C. Garrett; her granddaughter, Jacquelyn G. Morriss and her niece, Helen C. Dixon and her husband, Lloyd Dixon. Viola is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Jackie) Carpenter; her son-in-law, Reverend James T. Garrett and wife, Mary; her great granddaughter, Whitney Morriss and her grandson-in-law, Don Morriss and wife, Patsy.
Additional survivors include, Tommy Simar and wife, Sue, Carol Daigle and husband, Jay, Ronald Dixon and wife, Emma, Lillian Abshire and husband, Whitney, Edna Mae Seilhan and Mae Metcalf.
