Shooting Death in Orange
Captain W. K. Longlois of the Orange Police Department has released the following statement regarding a recent shooting:
Officers found the body of Jimmy Paul Taylor at 6:20 p.m. at 103 Amaryllis Street. The 27 year old male had been shot in the chest by another Orange resident – age 26.
Taylor received emergency medical treatment from the Orange Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance Service who were first responders of a medical nature. He was then transported to Baptist Orange Hospital where he subsequently died as a result of his injuries.
Derry Dunn, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, pronounced Taylor deceased and ordered an autopsy to be performed.
Officers from Orange Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, West Orange Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are assisting in this investigation, but at this time, no charges have been filed.
