William D. Copelin, 69, of Orange passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 11,

2010, in his residence.

A visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 14, from

2:30-4 p.m. in First

Church of The Nazarene in Orange, followed by services at 4 with Rev.

K. Ray McDowell officiating.

A native of Jacksonville, Texas, he was born to parents Lucille Catherine (Dolan) Copelin and Barney Copelin. He had lived in Orange since 1964, coming from San Antonio. He served his country in the Air Force; working in a special security unit during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from Chevron as a supervisor after 34 years of employment; his co-workers were like family to him. A great joy in life was his development of Bearfoot Acres. He enjoyed hunting and saltwater fishing. William was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who loved to spend time with all his family members.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Fredna Ann (Chancelor) Copelin; daughters, Deborah Ann Boyd and her husband Ellis of Orange, Kimberly Copelin of Houston; sister, Mary Catherine Woolery of Jacksonville; granddaughter, Sophie Elissa-Ann Boyd and numerous nieces and nephews.
