The Twelfth Annual Southeast Texas Career Fair for High School Students will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Beaumont Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 2,000 juniors and seniors from 20 area high school in the nine-county region are expected to attend the career fair.

Representatives of many of the major employers in Southeast Texas will provide information about a variety of career options available to high school students after graduation. Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Port Arthur and Lamar University will have representatives available to answer questions and pass out information on their respective campuses. Apprenticeship Training representatives and military recruiters will also be on hand on to provide information for students interested in those programs.

Nancy Hooker, director of the Tech Prep program at LSC-O, is also director of the career fair for Southeast Texas College Tech Prep.

“The career fair is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about different careers and the training that is available to enable students to do them.”
