Four recipients will receive the Rogers Community Service Award Nov. 10 in the Richard L. Price Auditorium of the John Gray Center.

The Lamar University Foundation Inc. will host a program and reception Wednesday, Nov. 10, to honor the four recipients of the 2010 Julie and Ben Rogers Community Service Award.

Regina Rogers, representing the Rogers family, will present the awards during a program in the Dr. Richard L. Price Auditorium of the John Gray Center, 855 Jim Gilligan Way in Beaumont. The program will begin at 3 p.m., preceding a reception. Rogers will present the awards to: * Kara Baker, assistant professor of management development at Lamar Institute of Technology. Judy Choate-Rumby, academic adviser and job placement coordinator, Lamar State College-Orange. Laura Johnson Stafford, associate professor of speech and theater, Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Donna Wilsker, assistant professor of nursing, Lamar University.

Presidents of the four institutions will profile the recipients and the contributions that led to their selection for the prestigious honor. The Rogers family established the award in 1979 to encourage Lamar faculty and staff members to volunteer their services and talents to benefit the community.
