Vinton- Bernice Marie LeBlanc, 83, died Friday, December 3, in a Port Arthur care center.

She was a native of Opelousas, La. and had been a resident of Vinton for over 30 years, coming from Orange. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, and caring for children, especially children with special needs. Bernice was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton.

Survivors include two sons, Larry LeBlanc and wife, Barbara of Orange, Texas and Robin Lamar LeBlanc of Vinton; her daughter, Kristana LeBlanc Stephens of Vinton; two brothers, Aubrey Smith of Orange, Texas and Donald Smith of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Ann Sepulvado of Orange, Texas and Mazel Cook of McAllen, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jean LeBlanc of Vinton; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis LeBlanc; her parents, Darbes and Warvley Smith; a son, Daniel C. LeBlanc; and a brother, Boyce Smith.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton, La. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, La.

Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
