Cullen Markell Snell, 20, of Mauriceville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Services to remember his life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Cowboy Church of Orange County, 673 F. M. 1078, Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor E. Dale Lee. Interment will follow services in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Cullen was born on Sept. 28, 1990 in Texarkana to his parents, Roy Delane Snell and Mitzi Lee (Cothran) Snell. Cullen lived in Mauriceville for the last 18 years, he graduated from Little Cypress – Mauriceville High School class of 2009 and he worked as a welder in construction for West Coastal in Beaumont. Cullen enjoyed the western lifestyle, riding horses and four wheelers, hunting; fishing and he enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends of all ages. Cullen was a member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County and also considered the people of Silver Oaks Baptist Church in Mauriceville his second family. Cullen will be remembered most for his sense of humor and for being outgoing.

Cullen is preceded in death by his great grandparents and his dear friends, Wayne Willie, Matt Brown and Destin Lairsey. Those who will most cherish his memory are his parents, Roy and Mitzi Snell of Mauriceville; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Thelma Snell of Hornbeck, Louisiana; his maternal grandparents, Melissa Cole of Aurora, Kentucky and Dan Cothran and wife, Susan of Cedar Creek Lake, Texas; his brothers, Randy Snell, wife Tammy Rogers and their daughter, Ella Snell of Honolulu, Hawaii and Travis Snell of Mauriceville and his sister, Abbie Snell of Mauriceville. Cullen is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and extended family.
