William “Pete” McManus, II, 62, of Orange, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, at his home in the Echo Community.

Services to remember his life will be at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Sister Ruth Logan Burch, pastor of the Harvest Chapel Church in West Orange.

A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 4PM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pete was born on March 6, 1948 in Orange, to his parents, William Henry McManus and Janie Marie (Peveto) McManus, he was a lifelong resident of Orange, worked as an electrical contractor in the construction industry and Pete was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith. Pete was a man who enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and watching sports. Pete will also be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many.

Pete is preceded in death by his father and those who will most cherish his memory are his daughter, Nicci Spears and her husband, Dubby of Orange; his son, Todd McManus and his wife, Jessica of Port Neches; his mother, Janie Marie Newton and her husband, Bobby of Orange; his sisters, Daisy Reeves and J.C. Reeves of Orange and Margie Kelly of Evadale; his brother, C. B. McManus of Avenger, Texas; his grandchildren, Jeron Preston, Tae McManus, Haylee Spears, Jennifer McManus, Julianne McManus, Dalton Barnett and Preston Nance.

Pete is also survived by numerous extended family as well as his close friends, Gene Hennigan, Floyd Thornal and Tom Witterfield.
