J.B. Yarbrough, of Katy, formerly of Orange, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16,at the age of 91.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb.19, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Pamela Cline officiating.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bee Yarbrough of over 55 years.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. Michael Yarbrough of Katy, and Douglas Yarbrough and wife Laura of Houston; grandchildren, Kyle Yarbrough, Rebecca Yarbrough Abbate and husband Christian, Jana Yarbrough, Corey Yarbrough; and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Abbate. J.B. is also survived by his 100 year old brother, Howard Yarbrough and wife Dorothy.
J.B. was born on Nov.30, 1919 in Clarksville, Tennessee. On June 23, 1951, he married Bessie Bell Corfman in Sulfur, Oklahoma and they lived in Miami, Oklahoma until 1954 when they moved to Orange. In Orange, he was employed by Chevron Chemicals for 28 years until his retirement. In 1984, they moved to Katy.
J.B. was a life-long member of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the A.F. and A.M. Lodge York Bodies and the Scottish Rite Freemasonry.
