Marlene Reeves, 86, of Pinehurst, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, at Baptist Hospital in Orange. Funeral services to remember her life will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Feb. 24, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Officiating will be the Rev. Kevin Brown, pastor of First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Rite of committal and Interment will follow services where she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Morse Cemetery in Buna.

Born on June 18, 1924 in Leesville, Louisiana to her parents, Clyde Richardson and Nora (O’Banion) Richardson, she was a lifelong resident of Orange, a homemaker and she had previous attended Circle Drive Baptist Church in Bridge City. Marlene was a kind loving lady who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family will remember her for the many Sunday dinners that she cooked of Roast and Fried Chicken.

Greeting her at heavens gate and preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Jessie P. Reeves, her brother, Cecil Richardson and her son-in-law, Randy Callahan.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Diana Reeves of Orange and Wanda Callahan of Buna; her sons, J. C. Reeves and wife, Daisy of Orange and Mack Reeves and wife, Kristy of Mauriceville; her grandchildren, Chad Reeves, Wanda McGraw, Terri Lavergne, Candace Lawrence, Mickey Callahan and Belinda Molin; her fourteen great grandchildren and another on the way.

Marlene is also survived by numerous extended family. Pallbearers will be Chad Reeves, Mark McGraw, Mickey Callahan, Joey Lavergne, Chad Molin and James Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
