Peggy Jane Swanton, 54, of Vidor passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, in High Island, Texas. Services to remember her life will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Feb. 25, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Conducting the services will be Chris Eppler, minister with the Mauriceville Church of Christ in Mauriceville. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at funeral home.

Born on June 30, 1956 in Enumclaw, Washington to her parents, Leonard French and Joyce (Umek) French, she had lived in the area for the last 31 years, she worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Renaissance Hospital in Groves and she was a member of the Church of Christ in Mauriceville. Peggy enjoyed fishing, camping, riding her motorcycle, surfing the internet and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Peggy is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Johanna and Zigmon Fornalski and her grandparents, John and Johanna Umek.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband, Alan L. Swanton of Vidor; her daughter, Andrea Lynn Swanton of Vidor; her sons, Jeremy Swanton and wife, Elaena of Vidor and Brent Swanton and wife, Katie of Orange; her father, Leonard French of Oakland, California; her mother, Joyce Higgingbotham of Arizona; her sisters, Amy French of Graham, Washington and Greta Dorrance of Enumclaw, Washington; her brothers, Greg French and wife, Kay of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Mark French and wife, Annette of Gladwin, Michigan and her seven grandchildren, Bayleigh Swanton, Kaimen Swanton, Kyron Swanton, Brenna Swanton, Brice Swanton, Trevor Short and Shelby Short.
