Iris Allene Yokum, 75, of Orange passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 28, from 10 am until 2 pm at Colony Baptist Church in Orange , with a funeral service held at 2 pm at the church. Rev. Sam Rowe will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange .

She was a native of Stuttgart , Arkansas ; born on Dec. 16, 1932 to parents Ted and Sadie Craig. She had lived in Orange since 1954. She retired from Little Cypress-Mauriceville I.S.D. after 18 years employment in the transportation department. She was member of Colony Baptist Church and she was very active in the Lioness Club producing country music concert, playing her guitar and helping raise money for handicapped children. She enjoyed going fishing and she was a great seamstress. Iris loved and adored her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as possible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Sadie Craig; daughter, Debra Denise Yokum; sister, Jeanette Wiley; brother, Floyd Craig.

She is survived by her husband, Junior “Jimmy” Yokum of Orange; daughter, Denise Maria Powell and husband Charles of Orange; sons; Jimmy Steven Yokum and wife Linda of Orange; Steele Allen Yokum and wife Vickie of Orange; grandchildren, Angela Mays, Sheree Yokum, Haily Yokum, Hannah Yokum, Kristin Yokum; great grandchildren, Seth Yokum, Alexis Mays, Chrislee Mays, Sheynne Powell, Chase Powell, Avery Stanley, Melody Aytes.

She is also survived by her sisters, Edith Reese of Orange, Gail Mitchell of Orange, Janice Artcher of Hot Spring, AR, Becky Rasmus of Seattle WA, Donna Irby of Silsbee; brothers, James Craig of Bridge City, Benny Craig of Bridge City, Fred Craig of Dallas and a large extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Yokum, Ted Mitchell, Henry Mitchell, Bruce Denham, Lynn Denham and Jesse Mitchell.
