Orange County students participate in Protégé Art contest
The annual Protégé Art contest was held Feb. 24 at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Orangefield High School was represented by two artists: Bradley Worthy and Rebecca Seidenberger.
Bridge City High School was represented by five students. Taylor DeMarcy and Johnathan Nguyen received Honorable Mention. Additional students in the show from Bridge City were Kelsea Lane, Tiffanie Zumwalt and Anthony Rodriguez.
All were recognized during the opening ceremonies at a standing room only show.
This contest recognizes the best of artwork by seniors in southeast Texas. Nearly 200 entries were submitted and only 25 were selected. Their work is professionally matted and framed by the students and will hang in the gallery museum before touring six other venues throughout the year.
It will then be returned to the artist.
