Orange man arrested for public intoxication – again
Friday evening at 7:00 PM, Orange police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Green in reference to an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival, Officer M.J. Reeves made contact with a white male who was identified as Charles Rudy.
Rudy was sitting at the bar and appeared to be confused and disoriented. Officer Reeves noted that he had assisted another officer several days earlier arresting the same man for public intoxication.
When Rudy stood up from the bar, police officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his person, and he was extremely unsteady on his feet. Officer Reeves felt that Rudy posed a threat to himself and others and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
As officers were trying to place Rudy in the patrol car, he was so unsteady on his feet he laid down on the pavement, and Officer Reeves had to physically pick him up and place him in the car.
Rudy was transported to Orange County Jail and booked.
