Monthly car show in full swing after many years
From custom to original; from classic to current. They all come the third Saturday of each month, to Wienerschnitzel in Orange, to show their goods. To show the off the long hours of building, tweaking and restoring – the blood, sweat and tears of their labors.
This fun filled family event has been a monthly tradition, which was started by Buddy and Mary Murray of Orange, about 20-25 years ago. When Buddy passed away a couple years ago, family and friends kept the “wheels turning and tires burning“.
Sometimes as an added bonus, there is a “split the pot” drawing, and others there are door prizes donated by local merchants.
The show starts at about 5:00 PM, and runs until the last car pulls off the lot.
One never knows what they might see at the monthly show, from motorcycles, to rarities, to the latest vehicle to hit showroom floors.
At any given gathering, there are usually anywhere from 30-60 cars gathered, the owners each with their own bragging rights to share.
Wienerschnitzel, who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, offers 25 cent mustard dogs only on the night of the show.
