It’s a life sentence for Joseph Roberts
Joseph Roberts, Jr. has been convicted for the murder of local insurance agent, Mickey McNamara, of Orange. Roberts, 22, has received an automatic life without parole sentence. The DA was not seeking the death penalty.
Roberts was said to have used a baseball bat to beat the 76 year old McNamara to death in April of 2010, in McNamara’s Green Ave. office.
McNamara’s niece, Joyce Cross, who works at the business, was also hit with the bat and seriously hurt.
The jury took only 55 minutes to reach their verdict.
Roberts was arrested two days after the attack, and confessed to the killing.
