Malcolm Deloyed Marks
On June 26, Malcolm Deloyed Marks was called to his eternal home with Jesus Christ, his savior and Lord. The family will be accepting guests on Tuesday, June 28, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Proceeded in death by his mother and father Joseph and Pearl, stepmother Frankie, Sisters: Florene Marks and Gertrude Tinsley; brothers: Gene and Jerry Marks, and nephew Gregg Marks.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Marks, children Patricia Wickus, Malcolm Jr. and wife Sherry, Mary, Barry and wife Paige, William and wife Shelly, and Christopher Marks; grandchildren Malcolm III, Jaime, Trey, Kacie, William and Madelyn Marks, brother Percy Marks and his wife Lois; and lots of nephews and nieces.
Malcolm served on the fighting ship USS Portland CA33 March 1943 through Jan. 1946. He was an active member of the USS Portland Reunion Association and cherished his memories of serving with some of the finest men he ever knew.
Malcolm was born in Orange, Feb. 27, 1927, and attended Orange public schools. He had a keen sense of humor and was well liked by all that knew him. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved gardening and cooking. He loved his Webber grills. He had a 34 year career with, and retired from Metal Goods Division of Alcan Aluminum.
After retiring from Alcan, Malcolm served as a consultant for good friend Rex Reynolds at Pacer Alloy. Malcolm was a person who loved people and enjoyed life with great enthusiasm, and he will be missed greatly.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, at 12:30 pm in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, TX 77598, (281) 332-3111.
