Fruit Bowl Cake

One of my favorite cakes is chocolate however, one of the easiest cakes to make is the fruit bowl cake. Since I didn’t have to make it, I ordered chocolate.

I turned 16x5 on the 21st of July. I had a big blowout at one of the sons’ home on Wednesday. We had a variety of barbecued meat.

Elaine came from Vegas along with her daughter Carly and son John of Mauriceville hosted the party and invited all of the local kinfolk for supper.

We had a ball and not too many mosquitoes. There were 27 in attendance.

Then on Thursday we went to Athens to visit my brother Hays, his son, two grandsons, one nephew and one great-nephew. Then that is the end of the Alonzo Mills family.

I am the baby of 11 children. Hays and I were the end of the 11 and still are. We have several nieces and nephews, plus two sisters-in-law.

We had another big meal at a local café and all of the local kinfolk were in attendance.

So here is the recipe for the fruit bowl cake. I hope you enjoy it.

• yellow or sponge cake mix.

• 1 can of cherry pie filling

• 1 box instant pudding mix

• 1 large can crushed pineapple

• 10 ounce Cool Whip

Bake cake according to directions on the box. Break into small pieces and put into a punch bowl or into a large glass bowl.. Add crushed pineapple, including juice. Prepare pudding and add before it sets. Add pie filling, saving a small amount for topping. Add Cool Whip, then left over pie filling. Store in refrigerator. It is better to let set for a day before eating.

Easy and Gooder’n Syrup. Von
