Wallet stolen from LU-O library
Tuesday afternoon, officer Tim Pruitt with the Orange Police Dept., responded to a call in regards to a theft at Lamar University’s Ron E. Lewis Library.
Upon arrival, Officer Pruitt met with a student who is also employed at the Lamar University Advisement Center.
The victim’s desk is located on the third floor of the library, where she left her purse unattended between 1:00 and 3:30 pm.
After leaving Lamar, she discovered that her wallet was missing from her purse, which was described as a black cloth purse with double straps. The wallet was a paisley print wallet. The stolen wallet held the victim’s driver’s license, social security card, along with a Compass Bank debit card and Compass Bank personal checks.
The victim told police that she would like to press charges if a suspect is located.
