The Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program is currently accepting client applications for free prostate cancer blood test screenings for medically underserved men in Orange.

The program will make available these lifesaving prostate screenings for eligible men on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Baptist Orange Hospital Professional Building (610 Strickland Drive) from 9 to 11 am (appointments are required).

Screening participants will also consult with medical professionals to discuss good health practices, with free blood glucose and blood pressure testing provided. Educational materials, lunch and additional giveaways will be offered to participants and their families.

Through its continued partnership with Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas and the Baptist Cancer Center, the “Gift of Life” provides free blood test prostate cancer screenings for men who are at least 45 years of age (40 if African American or if there is a history of prostate cancer), have limited income and are underinsured.

Screenings will also be available on Saturday, Sept. 17, in Port Arthur (Lamar State College Port Arthur – Carl Parker Center) and on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Beaumont (Baptist Hospital).
As space is limited, please call 409-861-5940 or 409-833-3663 immediately to find out if you qualify and to make an appointment.
